10-Day Chinese History and Culture Tour

Day 1 Arrival/Beijing

Flight on your own arrangement

Upon your arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport, our local guide will meet you and pick you up to the hotel. In the hotel, s/he will confirm your itinerary and recommend you some famous and faire restaurants. The remainder of the day is your free time.

Day 2 Beijing (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will explore the Forbidden City (the Imperial Palace), the Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven. After sightseeing, you will enjoy the Beijing Roast Duck Dinner in the Quanjude Restaurant.

Day 3 Beijing (B, L)

After breakfast, take your special bus (about 40 minutes drive) to visit Bdaling Great Wall. Then lunch at a local popular restaurant, and proceed to visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tombs. After dinner, experience local culture at the Beijing Opera, including a behind-the-scenes look at the colorful make-up being applied to the performers.

Day 4 Beijing /Xian (B, L)

In the morning, be driven around the old alleyways (hutongs) in a cycle rickshaw. You stop at a traditional courtyard home for a cup of tea and get a historic view of hutong life. On school day mornings you may visit a Chinese kindergarten. You then go up in the Drum Tower and hear the drums play, the ancient way of keeping time. After that, be transferred to the airport for flight to Xian.

Day 5 (B, L)

Today, your full day sightseeing will start from the Eighth World Wonder- the Terracotta Warriors and Horses then transfer to visit the Huaqing Pool. After that, proceed to visit the Xi'an City Walls, the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower.

Day6 Xian (B, L)

After breakfast, be picked to visit the Taoist Temple (the Temple of Eight Immortals), which is the best preserved Taoist temple in Xian. Then drive about 1 hour to see the Cave Dwelling Village. After Chinese lunch, you will transfer to visit the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum. In the evening you will enjoy a special dinner—a dumpling banquet with the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Day 7 Xian/Shanghai (B)

Transfer to Shanghai in the morning. Remainder of the day is at leisure in your hotel or free exploration of this bigalopolis.

Day 8 Shanghai (B, L)

After breakfast, visit the Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Garden and Shanghai Old Town. Have a Chinese lunch and then visit the Shanghai Museum. After that, visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and then make a free tour around the Nanjing Road.

Day 9 Suzhou (B, L)

Drive 1.5 hours to Suzhou to visit the Humble Adiministrator's Garden. Then make a tour to the Grand Canal by boat. Have a Chinese lunch and then make a tricycle tour around the Suzhou Old Town to explore the local people’s life. After that, pay a visit the No.1 Silk Factory. In the evening enjoy Night Garden Show in the Master of the Nets Garden.

Day 10 Shanghai/Departure (B)

Drive back to Shanghai for your homebound flight (your own arrangement).

Dropped off at the airport.

·Hotel Accomodation-the hotel accommodation is based on two persons sharing one twin room with private facilities.
·All transportation, transfers and tours with private guide and car or van in each destination.

·Daily breakfast at the hotel, Chinese lunch and dinner with one cup of soft drink are offered outside the hotel or as specified in the itinerary.
·The government tax.
·Travel Agencies' Liability Insurance with the tour inside China. (Include China Life Tourist Accident Insurance/Casualty Insurance. We highly recommend that you purchase full coverage travel insurance from you country of origin.)

·Charge of obtaining your visa to enter China.
·In/out flight, domestic airport fee and departure tax is not included. (We can help you book the cheap tickets!)
·Gratitude to guide and driver is not included.
·Expenses of a personal nature such as laundry, drinks, telex, optional activities or sightseeing, telephone calls or overweight baggage charges or meals not indicated etc.
·The airport construction tax.

·The hotel, guide and transfer are all based on double occupancy. If the visitor travels alone, he or she must pay for the other person. This additional charge is called single supplement.

· If the traveler number is odd (such as 3, 5, 7...), the odd number person who stays in one single room has to pay the single room supplement. Since the hotel is on the double occupancy.
