Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival/Shanghai (no meals)

Transfer via: International Flight on your own arrangement

Meet your guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

Day 2 Shanghai (B, L)

Transfer via: private car on our arrangement

Today, your full-day Shanghai tour includes the Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market and the Jade Buddha Temple.

- Shanghai Museum:
One of the most famous museums in the world. It is known for the over 120,000 pieces of Chinese antiquities.

-Yu Garden:
Originally built in 1559 and finished in 1557. It features ancient cultural artifacts, pagodas, pavilions, carvings, rockeries, fountains, old trees and precious flowers etc.

- Yuyuan Market:
A bustling market nearby the Yu Garden. It is a perfect combination of tourism, shopping, local food and Chinese folk entertainment.

-Jade Buddha Temple:
Named after its exquisite milky jade Buddha from Burma in the early 20 century. With 70 resident monks at last count, it is a spiritual oasis in the midst of a modern metropolis.

Day 3 Shanghai (B, L)

A morning trip to the Bund and the Nanjing Lu, after that, ascend the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to have a bird's eye view of Shanghai.

-The Bund:
Tthe symbol of Shanghai City, where the financial tycoons had their headquarters in the 1920s and the 1930s. The Bund is about a mile long, many western style architectures built in the early 20th century standing there.

-Nanjing Lu:
Enjoys the reputation of ""Chinese Ginza and ""China's No.1 Shopping Street"" with a glittering array of articles on sale.

-Oriental Pearl TV Tower:
The 468 meters height makes it the highest TV tower in Asia and the third highest tower in the world. Standing on the sightseeing floor, you can get a bird's eye view of the dynamic metropolis.

Day 4 Shanghai / Kunming (B)

Transfer via: China domestic flight on our arrangement

Free in the day until the local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination--Kunming. Upon your arrival at Kunming--""the Vernal City"", be met and picked up to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

Day 5 Kunming (B)

Today, you will make an excursion to the Stone Forest, and then be driven back to Kunming to visit the local famous Birds and Flower Market.

-Stone Forest:
The Yunan Stone Forest is 78 km away from Kunming. It covers an area of 350 square kilometers and known of its unique aesthetic karst peaks, grotesque rocks, strange caves, flying-down cascades, mountain lakes and the ethnic culture and customs.

- Kunming Birds and Flower Market:
The most interesting attraction within the downtown area of the Kunming City. This comprehensive public market is for leisure, shopping, eating and trading. Rambling on the market street, you can see hundreds of shops and stalls of all kinds. It is a real place to know the local people.

Day 6 Kunming / Dali (B)

After breakfast, be escorted to the airport for the morning flight to Dali. Upon your arrival, be met and transferred to the city by our local guide. Today, you visit in this beautiful city includes cruise on Erhai, Xizhou Bai Minority Village, Three Pagodas and the Dali Ancient Town.

-Erhai Lake:
Shaped like a human ear this lake covers over 250 square kilometers. With its vast pool of water shining under the sun like a sheet of vivid green and the snow mantles of the Cang Mountain reflecting quiveringly in it, it is known poetically as ""Silver Cang Mountain and Jade-like Erhai"".

-Xizhou Bai Minority Village:
A photogenic village 20km north of Dali, where Bai minority people are living and where you can get some ideas of the Bais' flair for architecture and elegant living.

-Three Pagodas:
At the foot of the Zhonghe Peak of the Cang Mountain, part of Chongshen Monastery, they are an emblem of the city's venerated history. The tallest of the trio, which is 69.13 meters high, was built in 836 AD, while two smaller ones were built during a later period.

- Dali Ancient Town:
First established in 1382 AD, with a moat surrounding it. This old town has a typical layout like a chessboard, old-timey roofed buildings with dark blue tiles and the white and gray walls.

Day 7 Dali / Lijiang (B)

In the morning, drive to Lijiang (3-hrs). On the way, you will stop by the Heqing County and pay a visit to Heqing Villages .

-Lijiang Ancient Town:
Aka Dayan Old Town, built over 800 years ago. The old town consists of clean streams flowing freely through the road network, the colorful cobbled streets, swaying willow trees, historical buildings and stone bridges. There are over 22 different ethnic minorities making Lijiang their home. Now and then you may see local folks in their own traditional dress. Rambling around this charming ancient town, you will be attracted by the unique atmosphere and surprised by its ancient yet simple sense of ""Harmony of Heaven and Man.""

-Heqing Village & Xinhua Village:
Long history of handicraft craftsmanship, you will see some traditional workshops, such as gold-making and silver-making etc., and you will have time to do some shopping if you wish.

Day 8 Lijiang (B)

Today, you will enjoy a full day trip to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Baisha Mural Paintings, the Black Dragon Pool Park and Museum of Naxi Dongba Culture inside the park.

-Jade Dragon Snow Mountain:
The mountain has 13 peaks extending for 35km from north to south, alongside the deepest gorge in the world: Tiger Leaping Gorge. It is snowclad year round, with grandeur and sublime. Fan Steep, its top peak, is 5,596 meters above sea level against the sky. The mountain is precipitous, picturesque, and peculiar, charming with the scenery sites of Spruce Meadow, River of White Water, River of Black Water, Dry Sea, Serac Forest etc.

-Baisha Mural Paintings:
Located in Baisha Township, 8km north of Lijiang, there are 53 groups of mural paintings in different temples with fine and smooth lines, bright colors, vivid patterns and harmonious composition. Painted from the early days of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), these mural paintings are an artistic representation of the different religious cultures such as Buddhism, Lamaism, Daoism and the Naxi Dongba religion.

-Black Dragon Pool Park:
Where you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar and the reflection of the mountain in the pool in a clear day. This park is the source of the water system of the Old Lijiang Town as the clean spring from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain gathers here.

Day 9 Lijiang / Zhongdian (Shangri-la) (B)

This morning, you will make an excursion to the First Bend of the Yangtze River and Iron Chain Bridge in the Shigu (Stone Drum) Town, and then Tiger Leaping Gorge. Drive about 100km to Zhongdian County (Shangri-la County) afterwards, where you will stay overnight.

-First Bend of the Yangtze River:
About 51km outside of Lijiang, the Yangtze River makes a sudden V-shaped bend and flow to the northeast. This extraordinary turn, nearly 180 degrees, creates breathtaking views that startle the imagination.

- Shigu Village:
Aka Shigu Town (Stone Drum Town), which is located on the opposite of the First Bend of the Yangtze River. Since ancient times, this town has been important, linking Tibet with the outside world. Here Tibetan people bring their quality fell, hide and herbal medicine and take home tea, salt, cloth and other necessities. When market day comes, the town is incredibly crowded and noisy.

- Tiger Leaping Gorge:
The gorge is 80m or more at the widest, or only about 30m at the narrowest, a most dangerous section of Yangtze River about 18km long. From the top of the gorge tourists can look down the steeply angled mountain sides to the rushing Golden Sands River (Jingshajiang) with its 18 frothing rapids more than 200 meters below.The gorge also affords tourists the possibility of rafting and drifting peacefully in its large quiet sections.

Day 10 Zhongdian (Shangri-la) (B)

The full-day excursion includes the Bita Lake, Napa Lake and Gedan Songzanlin Monastery. In the evening, pay a visit to a Tibetan family, where you will enjoy a local Singing and Dancing Show with some special snacks.

-Zhongdian:
the old name of Shagri-la County, located in the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. Today, Zhongdian County still remains an untainted natural paradise: the tranquil idyllic grassland, snow-covered peaks, mysterious lamaseries, leafy forests, agminate sheep and cattle…

-Bita Lake:
Located in Shangri-La County of North-western Yunnan, the lake is embraced by mountains and teeming with fish. The lake area is a good place for the ecotourism exploitation. Due to the road condition, you need to walk 7km on your own or ride a horse before you reach the lake.

- Napa Lake:
8 km away from the Shangri-La County County, the lake is situated on the Yila Grassland. The lake and it's around area are under the state's protection. Visit there you will be enchanted by the snowclad mountains, green grass, trees, rare birds, and clear water...

-The Gedan Songzanlin Lamasery:
Built in the Ming Dynasty and expanded in the Qing Dynasty, which is nicknamed ""Lesser Potala Palace"", is the biggest monastery of Traditional Tibetan Buddhism in Yunnan Province and one of the thirteen lama-series in the Kangba area.

Day 11 Zhongdian (Shangri-la) (B) 

Today is free at your own leisure. You can do some free exploration at the nearby places (no guide).

Day 12 Zhongdian/Kunming/Beijing (B)

After breakfast, be picked up to the airport for the flight to Kunming. Please wait for your next flight to Beijing at the airport (no guide service at Kunming airport). Upon you arrive at Beijing, our local guide meet you and escort you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

Day 13 Beijing (B, L)

After breakfast, you will first visit the Tiananmen Square, and then the magnificent Forbidden City. In the afternoon, you will marvel at the splendid Temple of Heaven. Your lunch will be served for the Beijing Roast Duck.

-Tiananmen Square:
The world's largest public square, it was the front gate of the Forbidden City in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Many great buildings around it including the Monument to the People's Heroes, the old Tiananmen Rostrum, the Great Hall of the People, revolutionary statues, ornamental cloud pillars...

- Forbidden City:
Home to the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has over 9,000 unique buildings and houses numerous ancient works of art.

-Temple of Heaven:
A place where the emperors offered sacrifice to Heaven and pray for bumper harvest. This beautiful traditional temple is the largest complex of existing ancient sacrificial buildings in China.  

-Beijing Roast Duck:
It has enjoyed the reputation of ""the Most Delicious Dish under Heaven"" for centuries. It is the famous food that Beijing has to offer. Most visitors who come to Beijing must have a bite.

Day 14 Beijing (B)

Today, your full-day excursion includes the majestic Great Wall (Badaling section), the Sacred Way and the Dingling Tomb of the 13 Ming Tombs.

- Great Wall:
One of the symbols of Chinese nation. It is considered as one of the eight architectural wonders of the planet. Built over 2,000 years ago and stretches about 6,700km. The Badaling section is known as one of the nine famous passes in China, which was built in 1505AD.

- Sacred Way:
An attractive way which leads to the Ming Tombs, bordered by 12 sets each of animal and human statues, and includes the Great Red Gate, housing a stele on the back of a tortoise, and marble memorial archway.

-Dingling Tomb:
The burial site of the emperor Wanli, the 13th emperor of the Ming Dynasty who ruled for 48 years until his death in 1620, it is the only underground tomb of the 13 Imperial Ming tombs ever excavated.

Day 15 Beijing (B, L)  

This morning, you will visit the Beijing Hutongs by rickshaw. Lunch will be served in a local people's home during the tour, where you can learn how to make dumplings. After that, proceed to the Summer Palace. In the evening, enjoy the wonderful show—the Legend of Kung Fu.

- Beijing Hutongs:
These unique street designs are, in fact, innumerous old interlaced narrow lanes with courtyard houses built on each side. Hutong is the epitome of Beijing folk life, which has been studied with the courtyard houses for many years as a kind of culture of Beijing.

-Summer Palace:
Originally built in 1750, this royal garden of the Qing Dynasty is a masterpiece of Chinese landscaping that harmoniously incorporates the works of man and nature. With its magnificent buildings, perfect layout, artistic collections and enchanting scenery, it is known as the most splendid garden in China.

-the Legend of Kung Fu:
This famous Chinese Kong Fu show was developed at the Beijing Red Theater by China Heaven Creation, one of China's leading performing arts producers. Many parts of the show are almost dreamlike in appearance, from the flying fairy created in Chun Yi's mind to the fire and brimstone of the blacksmiths workshop, where the tools and armor are created.

Day 16 Beijing /Departure (B)
