Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrive in Beijing (no meals)

This afternoon, you will be met at the Beijing Capital International Airport by our Beijing tour guide and then transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2 Beijing (B, L, D)

Today activities: Tea Ceremony + Temple of Heaven +Peking Roast Duck+ Summer Palace +Cantonese Food + Beijing Opera

-Tea Ceremony
You will learn something about Chinese tea, enjoy a demonstration of tea ceremony and have the chance to shop for tea and tea paraphernalia. This is a bit touristy but fun and a nice environment.

-Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven is a famous landmark of Beijing, was constructed from 1406 to 1420 during the Ming Dynasty and extended in the Qing Dynasty. The temple was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

Peking Roast Duck (lunch)
Peking Roast Duck is the most famous cuisine of Beijing. Those who visit Beijing will not miss this delicious food!

-Summer Palace
The Summer Palace is the most beautiful and the largest imperial garden existing in China. Its general design follows the tradition of Chinese landscape construction, and the buildings are arranged in harmony with the natural landform. If you have time, a boat ride is included.

Dine at a famous Cantonese food restaurant

-Beijing Opera
Beijing Opera or Peking Opera, this quintessence of China is a form of traditional theatre which combines music, dialogue, vocal performance, pantomime, dance, interesting facial make-up, acrobatics and martial arts.

Day 3 Beijing (B, L)

Today activities: Tiananmen Square + Forbidden City + Jiaozi + Jingshan Park + Tianyi Wholesale Market

-Tiananmen Square
Tiananmen Square is the symbolic architecture of Beijing. It was named the largest public square in the world evaluated at the World Top Tourism in Beijing in 1992.

-Forbidden City
The former imperial Palace, known to Westerners as the Forbidden City, its buildings with some nine thousand rooms are more than 560 years old and constitute the largest and most complete existing ensemble of traditional Chinese architecture.

-Chinese Dumplings (jiaozi) Lunch
Like ravioli, assorted fillings, dip in dark vinegar or soy. You can add fresh ground chili to your sauce which is very nice.

-Jingshan Park
The Jingshan Park (or Coal Hill) was a royal park of the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The park is famous for its ancient buildings, historical relics and flowers fairs. If you climb to the top of the Coal Hill (43 meters high) you can have a bird's eye-view of Beijing and the Forbidden City.

-Tianyi Wholesale Market
Probably the best place for tourists to shop for everything you want to take back. From jade and pearls to clothes, toys, souvenirs and the best selection of fake brand name goods you'll see anywhere. The nice thing is the prices are lower than other markets as you only see Chinese, very few tourists. One multiple levels and buildings there are at least 1000 stalls.

Day 4 Beijing (B, L)

Today Activities: Olympic Venues+ Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way+ Mutianyu Great Wall

-Olympic Venues
Drive around the Olympic Green and stop for two views, the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and the National Swim Center (Water Cube). While you are not allowed inside you can view them from outside and take pictures.

-Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way
First walk the Sacred Way then visit the Chang Ling Tomb (one of the Ming Tombs). Fits in with a trip to the wall.

Lunch (options)
Your choice of local Chinese food, McDonald's or KFC. They are available at the same price.

-Mutianyu Great Wall
About 1 1/4 hours drive from Beijing (73km), the Mutianyu Great Wall is characterized with a thick cluster of watchtowers atop, strategic passes, majiestic vigor and unique structure. Your fare includes cable car tickets up and Shibide Slideway down.

Day 5 Departure (B, L)

Today Activities: Hutong Tour by Cycle Rickshaw Ride + Go up Drum Tower+ Lama Temple

Be driven around the old alleyways (hutongs or Hutungs) in a cycle rickshaw. You stop at a traditional courtyard home for a cup of tea and get a historic view of hutong life. On school day mornings you may visit a Chinese kindergarten. You then go up in the Drum Tower and hear the drums play, the ancient way of keeping time.

Lunch at a famous Chinese food restaurant

Lama Temple
The Lama Temple (Yonghegong) is a famous lamasery located in the northeastern part of the old city of Beijing. It was a palatial residence built in 1694 by Qing Emperor Kangxi for his fourth son, Prince Yongzheng who later succeeded to the throne. The temple was a residence for large numbers of Tibetan Buddhist monks from Mongolia and Tibet and thus it was the national center of Lama's administration.

About the Single Room Supplement:

·The hotel, guide and transfer are all based on double occupancy. If the visitor travels alone, he or she must pay for the other person. This additional charge is called single supplement.

· If the traveler number is odd (such as 3, 5, 7...), the odd number person who stays in one single room has to pay the single room supplement. Since the hotel is on the double occupancy.
