Huangshan Transportation

Huangshan City, became famous long long time ago because of the famous tourist attraction - Mt. Huangshan (Mountain Huangshan). Below are a brief introduction to Huangshan's transportation for your Huangshan Tour.

By Air to/ from Yellow Mountain (Huangshan)
The Huangshan Airport has direct domestic flights to/from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and other cities like Shenzhen, Xian, Xiamen, Zhengzhou and Chongqing. International routes connect Yellow Mt with South Korea and Taiwan.
The airport is 7 kilometers from the city center. It is the first class aviation port equipped with full set of communication systems and navigation for 24-hour service and all-weather. WiFi is available for China mobile users and please check with Info Center for access.

Trains to/ from Huangshan
The fast train project will link Huangshan with other major cities in China. Upon completion (2015), it will take less than 3hrs between Huangshan and Shanghai. And travelers will access Huangshan from many other big cities like Bejing, Nanjing and Fuzhou. Present train solution is Shanghai – Huangshan, taking 12hrs (overnight) for the 672km trip.

Buses to/ from Huangshan
Huangshan is connected with some neighboring major tourist destinations as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Jingdezhen via highway. It takes around 3 hours between Hangzhou and Huangshan (300km), 6hr between Huangshan and Shanghai (670km), and 5hrs between Huangshan and Nanjing (340km). Buses are more flexible than trains with stopover at gas station for a break every 2-3hrs.

Buses in Huangshan
The Yellow Mountain Bus Station is 64km away from the Huangshan City (Tunxi). It takes 1.5 hours and the fare is 20 Yuan. One needs to take a shuttle bus then for the Ciguang Pavilion or Yungu Temple for the start of the mountain trip. The fare is 15 Yuan. Bus leaves every 20min from 0630 to 1730.

Huangshan Taxi
The starting price of taxi in Huangshan City is RMB7 Yuan (incl. fuel surcharge). After three kilometers, it's 1.5 Yuan every kilometer. It only takes 6 or 7 minutes to take a taxi from the railway station to the Tunxi Old Street, the city center.
