Pandas's Removal from Wolong to Ya'an in Sichuan

In the morning of May 21st, eight pandas from Wolong, Sichuan Province moved their house collectively escorted by 17 forest policemen. These pandas were taken from China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center of Wolong to the newly built Bifengxia base in Ya'an, Sichuan by 8 Nissan pick-up trucks. The distance of this move is over 300 kilometers, passing through Dujiangyan, Chengdu, and Ya'an finally reach the new base. The number of the giant pandas, seven are male, one is female. Their ages are from 2 to 5 years old. According to the vice-director of the China Panda Protection and Research Center, the male panda has stronger adapting ability for enviroments than the female. That's the reason why they choose male pandas mainly. These pandas become the first habitants of the new base, they will begin their new life here.

The newly build Bifengxia China Panda Protection and Research Center base in Ya'an costs RMB 240 Million Yuan(34285714.3USD), totally covers an area of 4,000,200 square meters, which ranks the biggest panda research base in China today.
