Galong Temple

Galong Temple is located in Bomi, an eastern county about 642 km from Lhasa. The temple has a history of more than 400 years. It houses the famous fingerprint of Buddha Padmasambhava. Nine beautiful white stupas stand in the front of the temple. An inhumation site nearby is decorated with white pray flags, waving at high. Currently, the temple is looked after by a few monks. Due to be covered by luxuriant trees, Galong Temple is considered as a top summer resort for the lamas.

The Galong Temple's architectural style and frescos are very different from those in other Tibetan temples and monasteries. Though it is far from Lhasa, some tourists come over there to explore its well-preserved cultural heritages.
