Tour Overview
The Sisters' Rice Festival in Taijiang County of Guizhou Province brings villagers from many remote mountain areas together in search of a mate. A kaleidoscope of colors, local customs and traditions, signature costumes and hairstyles provide a never-ending fashion show...the festival will be celebrated from Apr. 15 to 17, 2022

Day 01, Guiyang Arrival (no meal)                        
Arrive in Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou province. Be met and transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure for rest of the day.

Day 02, Guiyang / Anshun (B, L, D)
After breakfast, transfer to Anshun to explore the largest waterfall in China -- Huangguoshu Waterfall, also ranks the first in Asia which is 81 meters wide and 74 meters high. In the afternoon, visit Dragon Palace Cave which is an underground water cave located in  Dragon Palace Scenic Area and needs a boat ride inside  for about 40 minutes. En route, some hiking will be arranged to appreciate its gorgeous limestone mountain scenery. Then drive to Anshun to visit a small batik museum which is owned by one of the top 10 folk artists in China where you can see the process of making batik. Overnight in Anshun.

Day 03, Anshun/ Guiyang/ Kaili (B, L, D)
In the morning, take coach back to Guiyang. En route, stop at Tianlong Tunpu - an ancient village which was once a military outpost in the Ming dynasty. It is known for the unique stone buildings and the Ground Opera (Dixi). The opera recreate ancient Chinese tales from the Three Kingdoms (220-265) Period and the Tang (618-907) dynasty. The performers will put wooden mask on their forehead to ensure their voice could be heard by the audience. Women’s traditional costumes come with long blue robes and white or black turban. Upon arrival in Guiyang, city tour includes: Jiaxiu Pavilion, the symbol building of Guiyang. Then late afternoon, continue our 2.5 hours’drive to Kaili -- the capital city of Guizhou southeast autonomous prefecture of Miao & Dong people. Upon arrival in Kaili, visit Kaili Folk Museum to have an overview of the ethnic groups in Guizhou.                      

Day 04, Kaili / Shidong / Kaili ( B, L, D )
After breakfast, drive about 1 hour to Shidong to attend the annually traditional Sister’s Meal Festival of Miao people which is well known as the Oriental Valentine’s Day. It means eating lover’s rice which has been died into different colors. It offers opportunities for youth to find their marriage partners. Full day to explore festival’s activities: bull-fighting, dragon-boat race, wooden-drum dance and local market. You will be deeply impressed by their fantastic silver ornaments.                     

Day 05, Kaili/Leishan/ Kaili ( B, L, D )
1.5 hours’drive in the morning will take us to Datang short-skirt Miao village. You will be greeted into the village by its friendly villagers and supposed to drink the block-way wine before entering the village. Then, visit Jidao long-skirt Miao village. Hike in the village to appreciate their traditional architecture---wooden stilt house. Family visit will be very enjoyable. A Christian church can still be seen in the village. 

Day 06, Depart Guiyang (B)
After breakfast, visit a special village named Matang. Villagers are officially classified as a sub-branch of Miao people, but local people prefer Gejia than Miao.  The women are specialised in embroideries and batik. Their handicraft style dates back to the Qin dynasty. After the visit, you will be escorted to the airport for the flight to your next destination.
