Tomb of Hairui

The Tomb of Hairui is located in the Yabin village on outskirt of Haikou city. Built in 1589 (during the Ming Dynasty), the tome is now known as a cutural relic and under the protection of the nation. 

Hairui, born in Qiongshan, was a famous official known as 'Hai Qingtian' (incorruptible official) in the Ming dynasty. In his official life, he had corrected a lot of unjust judges and punished some wrongdoing officials until he died at age of 72 in Nanjing. The emperor hold a grand funeral for him and sent his coffin back to his hometown in Hainan. A tomb was built and his merit was honored highly by the people.

Hairui Tomb was completed by granites with a shape of an ancient bell. The Tomb, with an area of 7.4 acre, is marked by a high archway inscripted 'Yue Dong Zheng Qi', stone statues, memorials and garden enviroment.
