Embroidery Research Institute

Established in 1960, Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute is located in the Huanxiu Mountain Villa (Huanxiu Shanzhuang), a famous garden in Suzhou, noted for its elegant architecture and beautiful scenery. It now has over 100 specialized experts including Chinese master craftsmen, senior craftsmen, and highly qualified artists, etc. It opens for foreign travellers.

Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute have provided many high quality emboidery gifts and exhibits for the nation. Many of them were given as presents to presidents, premiers and other high officials from foreign countires who pay visits to China. Many of the silk embroideries found in the Embroidery Research Institute are top quality silk embroideries. They are too expensive for all but serious collectors.
